About the role
You'll be working one on one with an adult learner, in their home or a local community space, three days a week for seven weeks at a time (4 hours per session, 21 sessions total).
The goal is helping to teach them how to use everyday office software, and improving their general computing skills.
Learning plans will be provided to guide you through the course.
Topics covered include: file management, spreadsheet basics, simple Excel formulas, mail merges, meeting minutes, basic cybersecurity best practices, and a recap week where the learner runs through their secretarial duties independently. We
What you'll be doing
Running 4-hour training sessions, three days a week
Adapting pace and content to the learner's progress (some days will move faster than others)
Completing attendance logs and brief progress notes for each session
Flagging anything that needs more learning time
Keeping the learning environment supportive, unhurried, and free of jargon
Who we're looking for
Solid knowledge of Excel and to a lesser extent Word
Comfortable explaining the same concept three different ways without losing patience
Some experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or training adults (formal or informal both count)
Reliable car and current driver's licence
Available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (or another agreed three-day pattern, if required) from late June to mid August 2026
Pay: $37.00 – $48.00 per hour
