The general salary range for this position is $63,400-95,200. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.
Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking an International Accounting for the Accounting Department. In this position you will provide accounting services for international offices, affiliates, and parent organization as part of the Accounting department. Responds to needs including compliance review, vendor payments, payroll, budgeting, grants, fundraising, Human Resources, banking, expense management, managing financial tools (such as credit/debit cards), and monthly financials.
Responsibilities:
Provides monthly financial accounting for international offices, affiliates, and parent organization as part of the Accounting department. Performs general ledger reconciliations, accruals, adjusting entries, and inter-department activities. Advises on reclassifications and write-offs as needed;
Processes payroll, including coordination with affiliates and their chartered accountants, tax payments to the local tax authority, and bookkeeping for monthly financials, as needed;
Monitors cash balances for international offices and affiliates. Prepares quarterly funding analysis based on projection of expenses and facilitates transfers of replenishments to affiliate bank accounts;
Supports the annual organizational financial statement audit and international audits by preparing balance sheet reconciliations and support schedules, providing auditors with documentation, and responding to auditor questions;
Identified and resolves issues in international accounting operations including coding and internal control issues;
Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or another related field, or equivalent work experience, required;
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Accounting, preferably international accounting and non-profit accounting, or another related field required;
Great communication skills to interact efficiently with international offices and manage international fund transfer activities, intercompany transactions;
Self – Learner and roll up sleeves get doer attitude. Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a team environment;
Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
Advanced knowledge of international accounting, banking, and regulations;
Proficiency with Accounting Software (SAGE Intacct, FloQast, Adaptive Insight and Stampli);
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Prefer advanced Excel;
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive.
