Job description
Position: Household Cook - Specialized in Bengali Dishes
Location: Saltlake Sector 1, Kolkata
Salary - 12000 to 15000 + Food + Accommodation
Responsibilities:
• Prepare a variety of traditional Bengali dishes, including but not limited to fish curry, dal, vegetable dishes, rice, and sweets.
• Plan weekly menus in consultation with the household members, taking into account dietary preferences and restrictions.
• Procure fresh ingredients from local markets or trusted suppliers, ensuring high quality and authenticity.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
• Manage kitchen inventory and equipment, including timely maintenance and replenishment of supplies.
• Adapt recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or preferences as required.
• Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques, incorporating new ideas into menu planning when appropriate.
• Collaborate with other household staff members to ensure seamless coordination during meal times and events.
• Provide guidance and training to kitchen assistants or domestic helpers, as needed.
• Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, representing the household with integrity and respect.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a cook specializing in Bengali cuisine, with a strong portfolio of traditional recipes.
• In-depth knowledge of Bengali culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with household members and staff.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and preferences, including occasional evenings or weekends.
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm for cooking, and a passion for sharing Bengali cuisine with others.
