We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our inpatient Medicine ward, Ward 33 East. We have dedicated delirium beds within our ward so it would be an advantage to have experience in working with delirium patients. Comprehensive training, to support care delivery, will be given. Being an excellent team player, having the ability to be directed and supervised to deliver planned patient care is also required. This ward is based at Middlemore Hospital and is part of the Division of Medicine service.
Health Care Assistants are our RNs right hand people. Assisting them with day-to-day tasks of caring for our patients, this is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to our vision of delivering quality patient care.
The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work with different patients and families supporting the nurses. As aHealth Care Assistant you will be required to provide clinical care to our patients. Our new team member must also be highly organised, able to prioritise, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with our patients.

Essential:
2+ years Health Care Assistant experience in New Zealand
Level 4 NZ Health Care Assistant certificate with 1+ years HCA experience in New Zealand
or NZ Level 3 Health Care Assistant certificate with 2+ years HCA experience or equivalent (to be assessed) in New Zealand
Good communication skills
