Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic full-time educator to teach ELA to students in grades 6 through 12. The ideal candidate will be adept at delivering a rigorous, research-based curriculum and employing student-centered instructional strategies that are engaging and emphasize outside-of-the-box thinking. Hours would be from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm M, T, Th, F and 7:45 am to 4:30 on Wednesdays which includes personal planning time and our weekly staff meeting.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Teach various ELA topics around the 4 core skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking, & Listening
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special needs or learning disabilities
Utilize technology, gamification, and learning tools to enhance instruction
Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a comprehensive educational experience
Foster a love of learning and promote student growth and development
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education or English Language Arts
Experience with ESE, twice-exceptional and Gifted students
Experience teaching middle and high school students
Experience with HMH Online: Into Literature is a plus
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
Experience and strong skills in differentiation and pace-based instruction
Commitment to fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills through Socratic methods
Ability to bring learning to life; making it relevant for today's students
True passion for teaching and mentoring students
Exceptional ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels
Professional, organized, data & mission-driven skills
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
