Front Desk Receptionist- job post CHURCH Fitness
Job Description
CHURCH Fitness is looking for a warm, reliable and genuinely people-oriented person to join our front desk team.
We’re an independent boutique fitness studio in NW Calgary built around strength, community and the belief that movement should feel good to come back to. Our front desk is a big part of that experience. You’re often the first person someone sees when they walk through our doors and the last person they see when they leave.
And a quick heads-up: this is a very active front desk.
This is not a position where you’ll spend most of your shift sitting behind a computer. Our studio moves quickly, and so does our reception team. You’ll often be checking people in, answering a question, folding towels, restocking a change room, responding to an email and getting the studio ready for the next class all within the same stretch of time. Efficiency, attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential.
This is a part-time position of approximately 8–16 hours per week, including a mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts.
What you'll do
Welcome members and first-timers into the studio
Check clients into classes and assist with bookings, accounts and general questions
Answer emails, phone calls and in-person inquiries
Help clients navigate memberships, class packs, waitlists and studio policies
Process retail and studio purchases
Clean, tidy and reset reception, change rooms and common areas throughout your shift
Fold and restock towels and studio supplies
Support instructors and help classes transition smoothly
Complete opening and/or closing responsibilities as scheduled
Keep track of multiple tasks and priorities during busy class transitions
Notice what needs to be done and jump in without waiting to be asked
Who we're looking for
You don’t need to be a fitness expert. You do need to like people, move with purpose and pay attention to the details.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Warm, welcoming and comfortable talking to all kinds of people
Efficient, organized and able to multitask
Comfortable being on their feet and moving for most of their shift
Dependable and punctual
Detail-oriented, even when things get busy
Able to prioritize what needs to happen next without constant direction
Confident handling questions and solving small problems independently
Comfortable learning new technology
