Job Description
Applications are now being accepted for freelance Music Teachers/Educators for 2026.
Lucy Sparkles is a Child Safe organisation. We are committed to the safety and well-being of all children, and their welfare will always be our first priority. All personnel are required to adhere to our Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct.
Do you teach singing, piano/keyboard, guitar, or early childhood music?
Do you have experience working with young children and enjoy bringing music to life in a fun and engaging way?
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable music teachers to deliver high-quality music programs in early learning centres, kindergartens, and primary schools across Canberra.
This is a freelance contractor role (not a permanent part-time position). Applicants must have their own ABN.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons to children
Teach singing, rhythm, movement, and basic instrumental skills
Follow Lucy Sparkles lesson plans and program structure
Create a fun, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Communicate effectively with centres, schools, and the Lucy Sparkles team
Manage class setup, pack down, and equipment where required
About You
Passionate about music and working with children
Energetic, reliable, and confident in leading groups
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Well-organised and able to work independently
Previous teaching or performance experience is highly regarded
Requirements
Must have a valid ABN (freelance contractor)
Must hold a current Working With Children Check (or be willing to obtain one)
Must have the right to work in Australia
Relevant music and/or teaching qualifications are desirable
Ability to travel to schools and centres
