Role Description The First Aid Instructor will deliver high-quality first aid training to students in classroom and skills-lab settings at CBR Nursing College. This full-time, on-site role is based in Australian Capital Territory, and involves planning and delivering lessons, demonstrations, and practical exercises aligned with accredited first aid curricula and institutional guidelines. The instructor will assess learner competence through written tests and practical evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate training and assessment records. Responsibilities include updating teaching materials, ensuring equipment and training spaces are safe and well prepared, and staying current with first aid guidelines, standards, and best practices. The role also involves collaborating with academic and administrative staff to support student success and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
Strong instructional abilities in First Aid Training, with practical competence in First Aid for a range of emergency scenarios.
Proven experience in Training and Teaching, preferably in healthcare, vocational education, or adult learning environments.
Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to explain clinical concepts clearly to learners with diverse backgrounds.
Current, nationally recognized First Aid and CPR certification, with instructor or trainer accreditation (or eligibility to obtain it within a defined timeframe).
Relevant qualification in nursing, emergency medical care, education, or a related health discipline (e.g., Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, where applicable).
Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, respectful classroom environment and support learners with varying skill levels.
Strong organisational skills, including lesson planning, time management, and accurate record-keeping.
Familiarity with current first aid guidelines, safety regulations, and risk management practices in education and clinical settings.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
