Job Description
Over the last ten years, this Melbourne-founded group has built a profitable and sustainable international fashion label supported by clients and influencers internationally! Whilst predominately an eCommerce business, they continue to expand and grow into new markets.
The Operations Director is based in Melbourne and works closely with the other directors who are overseas. With the guidance of an experienced external CFO, and with the support of an overseas finance team of three that you will lead, this is a tremendous opportunity to combine your love for fashion, with a hands-on leadership role where you can advise and influence.
No two days will be the same as you:
Lead the overseas team that focuses on accounts payable, creditors, payroll, stock control and core financial reporting.
Building, driving and owning month-end reporting requirements
Managing budget and forecasts (and re-forecasts as required)
Controlling and advising on cash-flow
Performance reporting via KPI’s; building and running dashboards
Reviewing and advising on tax strategies (with external assistance)
Core finance manager tasks incl. recs, journals, clearing pays etc
Working with advisors including auditors, legal and insurers
You will enjoy being included in business discussions and will be well supported by the consulting CFO who will help you grow and succeed. A strong interest in process and systems improvements will be important as the majority of their business is online (Xero, Excel and eComm systems)
CA/CPA/CIMA qualified, a core base of commercial/financial accounting experience gained via a retail or e-commerce group, otherwise chartered if you have had exposure to this style of client, (preferably fashion).
You can work from home and catch up with the team once a week or so in Richmond (or work from there more if you prefer), so you will need to be Melbourne-based.
Full time preferred, 0.8 is an option too.
Remuneration shall be circa $135 - $140k + super pending experience.
