Fashion Designer
About the Role
BY THE BAY is looking for a Fashion Designer who can combine creativity with strong technical skills to design collections that reflect our brand’s minimal, chic, and versatile aesthetic. The ideal candidate is someone who understands women’s fashion, keeps up with global and Indian trends, and can translate concepts into commercially viable designs.
Key Responsibilities
• Research seasonal fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes.
• Design capsule collections (resort wear, co-ords, festive, etc.) aligned with brand vision.
• Create detailed sketches (hand/illustrator) and develop tech packs.
• Source fabrics, trims, and materials in collaboration with the sourcing team.
• Work closely with pattern makers, tailors, and the production team to bring designs to life.
• Oversee sampling and ensure fit, quality, and finish standards are met.
• Innovate with fabrics and embroideries while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to style shoots and support campaign concepts.
• Maintain mood boards, design archives, and collection timelines.
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Fashion Design or Apparel Design .
• 1–3 years of experience (fresh graduates with strong portfolios may also apply).
• Strong sketching & CAD/Illustrator skills.
• Good understanding of fabrics, draping, pattern making, and garment construction.
• Eye for detail, color, and silhouette.
• Ability to balance creativity with marketability.
• Team player with excellent time management skills.
