Job Description
Momentum Education is a nonprofit focused on one outcome: helping first-generation, low-income students successfully transition to and complete post-secondary education that leads to a living-wage career. We do this through: SAT preparation, college and financial aid advising, and ongoing post-secondary support.
About the Role
This is a high-ownership, execution-heavy role responsible for driving Momentum Education’s external presence and supporting revenue growth.
You will work closely with the Executive Director and play a key role in:
• Grant writing, fundraising support, and event planning and execution
• Marketing and communications
• Partner, alumni, and volunteer engagement
If you prefer working deeply on a single project over time, this role will not be a fit.
What You Will OwnGrants & Donor CommunicationSupport grant writing, submissions, and trackingDraft donor communications, including thank-you letters and updatesConduct research on prospective donors and funding opportunitiesMarketing & CommunicationsOwn execution of: Social media, Newsletter, and Website updatesCreate clear, compelling content that reflects Momentum’s mission and impactMaintain consistency and quality across all external communicationsAlumni & Volunteer EngagementSupport outreach and engagement of alumni networkHelp recruit, coordinate, and communicate with volunteersBuild systems to track and improve engagement over timePartnerships & External EngagementSupport relationships with corporate partners and external stakeholdersCoordinate and attend monthly field trips to corporate partners Represent Momentum Education professionally in external settingsEvents & Internal CoordinationHelp plan every four month Advisory Board meetingsSupport team meetings and internal coordinationEnsure all logistics and follow-through are handled with precisionWho You AreExperience
• 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit, education, marketing, or a related field
• Experience with writing (grants, communications, or content creation) preferred
Required Skills
• Exceptional written communication skills — this is a core requirement
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
• High attention to detail
• Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar) to improve speed and quality of work

• Grants and donor communications are completed on time and at a high quality
• Marketing and communications are consistent, clear, and professional
• Events and partnerships run smoothly without last-minute issues
• Alumni and volunteer engagement improves over time
• The Executive Director can rely on you to execute without needing to follow up
Compensation & Structure
• Salary: $50,000 – $60,000
• Benefits: Company provided health, vision and dental insurance (small employee contribution required) 10 PTO days 11 Paid Holidays 403(b) Retirement Plan, no company match
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Work Model: 4 days in-person and 1 day remote
