Condor Energy Services Ltd is a leading player in the energy sector, operating across Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking a full-time, experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our New Plymouth team and support our growing New Zealand operations.
About the Role
The Diesel Mechanics are responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of all Condor-owned or leased equipment, ensuring compliance with HESQ standards and completing relevant administrative tasks. Working across a variety of equipment including Hydraulic Work Over, Coiled Tubing, Capillary, Hydraulic Stimulation, Cementing, light vehicle and heavy transport equipment.
This role involves:
Conducting preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and refurbishments.
Managing hydraulic systems and using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues.
Scheduling and coordinating workshop activities with the Base and Maintenance Manager.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records in cloud-based systems.
Supporting wellsite operations when required, including on-call duties and extended duration campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring scheduled maintenance, repairs and workshop activities are met in conjunction with management.
Identify potential plant and process issues and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
Maintain compliance with NZ land transport requirements for equipment transport.
Oversee mechanical spares and oil inventories reporting any discrepancies and assisting with stock takes.
Liaise with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment readiness and complete any pre job documentation.
Provide coaching to operators on equipment maintenance and usage.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills and Experience
4+ years field service experience, including:
Demonstrated working knowledge of hydraulic circuit components and schematics, including electric-over-hydraulic systems.
4+ years working on Well Intervention or Drilling equipment advantageous but not essential
Qualifications
NZ Certificate Level 4 in Heavy Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
Valid Class 1 Full Driver’s License.
Certifications in First Aid, Working at Heights, and Common Permit to Work.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as CAT ET and SIS.
Experience using cloud-based maintenance management systems.
Additional certifications (e.g., Class 4/5 truck license, confined space, and gas detection, fabrication).
Intermediate fabrication and welding skills.
