Full job description
Position Summary

The Events Manager will play a pivotal role in launching and growing UP Events, overseeing all aspects of venue and catering sales, planning and execution to create exceptional event experiences and help establish UP Events as one of Toronto’s premier hospitality destinations.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining event sales, business development, client relationship management, event planning, operational oversight, and team development. The Events Manager will guide clients through every stage of the event-planning process, from the initial inquiry and proposal through planning and execution, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for both venue and off-site catering clients.

As UP Events establishes its venue business and continues to grow its catering division, the Events Manager will balance strategic leadership with direct involvement in day-to-day planning, coordination, and on-site event execution. Working closely with the Culinary, Beverage, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Restaurant Management teams, the Events Manager will ensure that every event is clearly communicated, thoughtfully planned, and delivered to the highest standards of hospitality, presentation, and operational excellence.

About the Opportunity

UP Events is the new private event venue from By Chef Nuit Hospitality, the award-winning hospitality group behind celebrated restaurants including PAI, Kiin, and Sukhothai. As we prepare to launch this exciting new venture, we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Events Manager to help establish UP Events as one of Toronto’s premier destinations for private events, weddings, corporate functions, and celebrations.

This is a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up. The Events Manager will play an important role in generating bookings, building client relationships, and developing the systems, processes, and service standards that will shape the future of the business. In addition to managing events at UP Events, the Events Manager will oversee and help grow off-site catering opportunities.

During the initial stage, this position will involve hands-on responsibilities for sales, business development, planning, coordination, and event execution. As the venue, catering business, and Events and Catering team grow, the scope and leadership responsibilities of the position may continue to expand.
