Door & Hardware Installer
Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Door & Hardware Installer to join us on a project basis in the Greater Vancouver area. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise across residential and commercial door systems — from traditional wood and hollow metal doors to advanced electrified, automatic, and ADA-compliant hardware. You take pride in precision, can read a set of drawings, and deliver clean, code-compliant installations that make both clients and inspectors happy.
Projects are primarily based in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. The ability to mobilize for out-of-area projects across British Columbia is considered a strong asset.

Expert-level installation of wood doors (solid core, hollow core, pre-hung, custom millwork) in residential and commercial settings
Expert-level installation of hollow metal (HM) doors and frames, including knock-down frames, welded frames, and slip-on frames
Full residential door hardware: cylindrical and mortise locksets, deadbolts, hinges, door closers, and threshold/weatherstripping systems
Full commercial door hardware: panic/exit devices, mortise locks, heavy-duty closers, pivots, flush bolts, coordinators, and door guards

Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, door schedules, hardware schedules, and specifications
Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments; safe work practices on active construction sites
Troubleshooting, retrofitting, and repair of existing door openings and hardware
Assets & preferred qualifications
AAADM certification (Automatic Door Inspector) — strongly preferred for automatic door scope; company support for certification may be available
Experience with storefront aluminum/glass systems, frameless glass doors, and curtain wall openings
Familiarity with fire-rated door assemblies and NFPA 80 compliance requirements
Knowledge of BC Building Code accessibility requirements and CSA B651 (Accessible Design for the Built Environment)
Previous experience working with GCs, architects, and hardware consultants on commercial projects
Willingness and ability to travel for out-of-area projects across British Columbia

Strong attention to detail — precise measurements, level and plumb installations, and clean finish work every time
Excellent time management and ability to self-organize on multi-trade job sites without constant supervision
Clear, professional communication with project managers, general contractors, and end-user clients
Problem-solving mindset — able to adapt when rough openings are out of tolerance or field conditions deviate from drawings
Reliable and punctual — projects run on tight schedules and your dependability directly affects timelines
Safety-first culture: full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and site-specific safety plans
Team player who can also work independently with minimal direction once scope is established
Positive, respectful attitude toward clients, co-workers, and trades personnel on site
Experience & education
Minimum 5 years of hands-on door and hardware installation experience (residential and commercial)
At least 3 years working with commercial and electrified/automatic hardware systems
