Division 1 and 2 (Grades K-6) Curriculum Teachers (0.5 FTE) (SFS)
Job Description
EIPS is recruiting up to six temporary part-time (0.5 FTE) Grade K - 6 Curriculum Teachers with our Support for Students department.
Central administration is comprised of eight departments, in addition to the Board of Trustees. The departments include Education Executive, Communication Services, Facility Services, Student Transportation, Human Resources, Financial Services, Supports for Students, and Information Technologies. Supports for Students provides services for the division in a variety of areas, including curriculum, assessment, pedagogy, and educational technology.
SFS is looking for up to six teachers to develop resources (assessments, unit plans, lesson plans, etc.) in Social Studies to support the implementation of the new curriculum. Some of the duties may include:
Staying current with curriculum as changes continue to be made by the Government of Alberta
Developing resources that align with Elk Island Public Schools Draft Scope and Sequence
Providing input, and receiving direction from the EIPS Instructional Supports department
Assisting with professional development sessions for teachers and administrators to support curriculum implementation
Working collaboratively with other teachers and EIPS consultants
Attending professional development sessions focusing on curriculum
Aligning the elementary report card categories and assessments with the curriculum
Integrating technology, balanced assessment, and evidence-based instructional practice into resources
Successful applicants who are continuous teachers will be able to return to their current school/position for the 2026-27 school year.
Commencing August 26, 2026
Ending June 24, 2026

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Experience teaching in Division 1 and 2
Effective organization and time management skills
Knowledge of strong instructional strategies and differentiation
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
Experience or familiarity with SharePoint and various technology Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams
An understanding of the Alberta Provincial Resource Review Guide
Knowledge and understanding of the use of artificial intelligence platforms
A commitment to Teaching Quality Standard 5 – Applying Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit
