Job Title: Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward
Department: Food & Beverage – Kitchen / Stewarding
Reports To: Stewarding Supervisor / Chief Steward
Job Summary
A Dishwasher (Kitchen Steward) is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas. This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring all dishes and tools are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities
• Wash dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, and pans using manual or machine methods
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization as per hotel standards
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area and kitchen floors
• Dispose of garbage and waste in a hygienic manner
• Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely
• Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, and refrigerators
• Keep storage areas clean and organized
• Ensure continuous supply of clean utensils for kitchen and service staff
Additional Duties
• Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks
• Help in receiving and storing kitchen supplies
• Support the kitchen team during busy hours
• Follow safety and hygiene regulations
Skills & Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Physical stamina (standing for long hours, lifting items)
• Teamwork and reliability
• Attention to cleanliness and detail
Education & Experience
• No formal education required
• Previous experience in hotel or restaurant is an advantage
Work Environment
• Fast-paced hotel kitchen
• Exposure to heat, water, and cleaning chemicals
• Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays
