Job Description
Summary
The Database Developer III will play a critical role in engaging with stakeholders and technical team members for requirement gathering, creating data pipelines in ADF and SSIS, mapping, extraction, transformation, visualizations, and analytical data analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT and business stakeholders to ensure seamless and efficient data flow, report generation, visualizations, and data analysis. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with established data standards. This role will report to the BEST Data Services lead in our Business Enterprise Systems Technology department.
A successful Database Developer must take a hands-on approach, ensuring the highest quality solutions are provided to our business stakeholders, with accurate development, documentation, and adherence to deadlines. This role will also work with key stakeholders across the organization to drive enhancements to a successful implementation and ensure all master data meets requirements and are deployed and implemented properly.
Primary Responsibilities
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, Data modeling and Performance tuning.
• Proficient in ETL operations using SSIS and other tools.
• Proficient in Python API calls, Cloud ETL operations
• Proficient in Cloud technologies like Azure and GCP.
• Collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements.
• Collaborating with senior Leaders to determine business-specific application needs.
• Providing technical leadership to the application development team.
• Performing design and code reviews and ensuring application design standards are maintained.
• Compiling and implementing application development plans for new or existing applications.
• Must be following SDLC practices.
• Demonstrating application prototypes and integrating user feedback.
• Writing scripts and code for applications, as well as installing and updating applications.
• Mentoring junior application developers and providing end-users with technical support.
• Performing application integration, maintenance, upgrades, and migration.
• Documenting application development processes, procedures, and standards.
• Integrating trends in application architecture in application development projects.
• streamlining of day-to-day activities; providing a more efficient production environment. lowering costs and gaining cost-effectiveness; providing a secure, stable, and supportable environment.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in SQL SERVER (Expert) and SSIS (Expert) development.
• Proficient in DataBricks.
• Proficient in Python API calls.
• Basic knowledge of Cloud Technologies (Azure/GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Data Modeling and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Good to have knowledge in POWERBI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
