We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manger to join the New Women and Babies Hospital Team in Perth! In this role, you will be managing the planning and leading the design activities for the project.


Perth Women and Babies Hospital


Webuild is delivering the design and construction of the New Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. Commissioned by the Western Australia Government, the project is destined to replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and will expand the healthcare services for women, children and their families in the State of West Australia, transforming the capacity of two important healthcare campuses: the Fiona Stanley Hospital complex and the Osborne Park Hospital.

Your focus will include:


Manage the design process from concept, schematic design, design development, detailed design and construction phases through to successful project completion.
Review the design documentation to meet Australian Standards, Statutory requirements and Building Code of Australia requirements.
Develop the Design Brief including the Functional Design Brief, Preliminary Design Report and Developed Design Report.
Manage the safety in design requirements, assessing risk and incorporating mitigation strategies.
Consider the buildability and construction methodology throughout the design process.
Delivering the scope of the project within budget, safety and time objectives liaising and communicating any changes or variations.

What you will bring to the team:


Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field
Proven experience working on large scale construction projects (health, commercial, education)
Excellent leadership, organisational, negotiation and problem solving skills
A solid understanding of construction methodology and statutory/regulatory requirements
A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to lead and mentor others
