We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental software systems, and a strong understanding of medical and dental terminology. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and providing exceptional patient service.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions efficiently
Maintain organized patient records in electronic medical records systems
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to appointments
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Uphold confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements
Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental or medical office setting preferred
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare
Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
Office experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor
Prior administrative experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
Pay: $18.77-$32.45 per hour
