Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Research Leadership
• Develop and implement the University's research strategy aligned with institutional goals and national priorities.
• Promote a culture of research excellence, innovation, and knowledge creation across schools and departments.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives.
• Mentor faculty members, research scholars, and project teams in research
• design, execution, publication, and grant acquisition.
• Monitor and improve research quality, productivity, and impact.
Research Grants & Funded Projects
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from government agencies, international organizations, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Lead efforts to secure research grants and sponsored projects.
• Provide oversight for project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and funding agency requirements.
Consultancy & Industry Engagement
• Develop and expand consultancy services in healthcare, hospital management, public health, development management, and related domains.
• Build strategic partnerships with government bodies, healthcare organizations, NGOs, multilateral agencies, and industry stakeholders.
• Lead business development initiatives for consultancy assignments and institutional projects.
• Enhance the University's visibility and reputation through impactful consultancy engagements.
Academic & Institutional Development
• Support faculty research capacity building through training, workshops, and mentoring programs.
• Strengthen research policies, processes, and governance mechanisms.
• Facilitate the establishment of research centers, laboratories, and knowledge networks.
• Encourage publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and dissemination of research findings. Represent the University at national and international academic, research, and industry forums.
Collaboration & Networking
• Establish and nurture partnerships with universities, research institutions,government agencies, development organizations, and international bodies.
• Promote collaborative research projects, joint publications, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Facilitate international academic and research collaborations.
Qualifications
• PhD in Hospital Management, Health Management, Public Health, Rural Management, Development Studies, Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Strong academic credentials with a proven record of research publications and funded projects.
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in teaching, research, training, consultancy, or project management in health, hospital, public health, rural development, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in leading research programs, consultancy projects, or academic institutions.
• Experience in securing and managing externally funded research projects.
• Experience in heading a Research & Consultancy function will be highly preferred.
