Due to business growth, we currently have a new opportunity for a Manager to join our Corporate Tax team. With a competitive salary, flexible and hybrid working, and a broad benefits package, this role is an integral part of the Corporate Tax function.
As Corporate Tax Manager at Ballards LLP, you will play a key role in delivering an efficient and high-quality compliance service while gaining exposure to exciting and varied advisory projects.
Working closely with Corporate Tax Partners and Directors, you'll lead the management and delivery of our corporate tax compliance portfolio, covering a diverse client base that includes large corporates, not-for-profit organisations, private equity-backed businesses, OMBs, and charities.
About the role:
Manage a portfolio of large corporate clients and ensuring timely, accurate corporation tax compliance
Prepare and reviewing tax computations and identifying technical issues
Advise on areas such as QIPs, loss reliefs, capital allowances, SAO, CIR, and loan relationships
Collaborate with audit and corporate finance teams to develop efficient compliance processes
Identify tax planning opportunities during compliance work
Handle enquiries into corporation tax returns
Support and mentor junior team members
Assist in ad hoc advisory and valuation projects, including restructuring and group reorganisations
Research and communicate complex tax legislation clearly to clients and colleagues
Balance multiple compliance and advisory projects with strong workflow management
About you:
ATT or ACA qualified, with 2–3 years' experience in corporate tax compliance/advisory
CTA qualified or keen to study towards it
Strong UK corporate tax knowledge and commercial approach to problem-solving
Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage deadlines independently
Supportive leader, capable of mentoring junior team members
Team-oriented with a commitment to diversity and inclusion
Eager to grow professionally and contribute to a positive firm culture
Experience with not-for-profits, RD claims, or Alphatax (desirable but not essential)
