Legal Counsel – Corporate and Commercial | General Counsel’s Office


The opportunity

As our Legal Counsel you’ll you’ll provide commercial contracting advice to support EY’s growing business.


This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney. The role is offered as a 12 month contractual role and can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.


Your key responsibilities

Work closely with EY’s professionals and pursuits teams to negotiate and manage a wide variety of high value pursuits and agreements, including large scale transformation projects
Collaborate with our colleagues locally and globally on issues relating to complex global contracting initiatives and projects
Form part of the globally integrated GCO function, serving as trusted advisors to the EY community through the delivery of proactive, commercial legal advice

Skills and attributes for success

An unrestricted practicing certificate for an Australian jurisdiction
At least 8 years’ post admission experience gained in a top or leading mid-tier firm and/or reputable in-house experience
Highly developed written and verbal communication and negotiation skills

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

Demonstrated experience across senior stakeholder management with an ability to influence and develop collaborative working relationships with a range of stakeholder groups in a complex and dynamic environment.
