Job Description
Position Summary
We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Cook to fill a Casual position at the Fort St. John Health Unit.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position performs a variety of food service duties such as arranging for food purchases; preparing and cooking meals, snacks, tea, coffee and other beverages; serving meals; measuring; setting up tables; cleaning kitchen and dining area and washing dishes and utensils. Works under the daily guidance of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Reports to the Home Support Supervisor. Works with other team members to provide the dietary program.
Qualifications
Grade 12.
Professional Cook Training Certificate.
Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe.
Valid Class V Drivers License.
Recent related experience of six months.
OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
OR other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Valid Driver’s License.
