Gitxsan Development Corporation (GDC) is seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded Summer Communications Coordinator Student to support recruitment initiatives, online presence, community engagement, and internal/external communications during the summer season.
This exciting opportunity is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in communications, marketing, human resources, public relations, or community engagement. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience supporting recruitment campaigns, job postings, digital communications, social media coordination, and community announcements within a fast-paced and growing organization.

General Duties
Assist with recruitment-related communications, hiring campaigns, and job posting coordination across multiple platforms
Support the creation, updating, and distribution of online job postings and recruitment advertisements
Help manage GDC’s online presence, including social media updates, digital announcements, and community-facing content
Draft and distribute community announcements, internal updates, and organizational communications
Support multi-channel communication efforts (email, website postings, internal messaging, and social platforms)
Assist in maintaining consistent branding and messaging across all recruitment and communications materials
Coordinate communication timelines, posting schedules, and follow-up reminders in a fast-paced environment
Support tracking and organization of recruitment communications, applicant updates, and posting status
Assist with newsletters, promotional content, and engagement materials as needed
Provide administrative and coordination support to HR and operations teams
Assist with community engagement initiatives, events, and organizational outreach activities
Demonstrate strong multi-tasking ability while managing competing priorities and deadlines
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all communications
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies related to:
Communications
Marketing
Public Relations
Human Resources
Business Administration
Journalism
Indigenous Studies
or a related field
