COBOL Specialist Application Architect Jobs

Work you'll do
• Play a pivotal role in the modernization of business-critical systems to improve IT health and enable business outcomes.
• Review legacy system documentation and code to understand business functions, data dependencies, and legacy data structures.
• Define modern application architectures that provide necessary business capabilities based on legacy system information and stakeholder conversations.
• Utilize experience with COBOL, preferably on the Unisys Mainframe, to support the client efforts.
• Effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including mainframe programmers, enterprise architects, and IT leadership, in both written and verbal formats.

This can include the delivery of large-scale software applications integrated systems, the development of service-oriented architecture (SOA) other integrations solutions, and the delivery of technology enablement to support CIO services transformation. Qualifications

Required:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
• Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clientsandindustries/sectorsyou serve.
• 7 + years of combined experience in software documentation, architecture frameworks, architecture design patterns, and COBOL.
• 3 + years of experience in coding with Java and COBOL.
• 2 + years of experience in architectural roles designing and implementing system architectures.

Preferred:
• Active Public Trust clearance is preferred.
• Experience with COBOL on IBM Mainframe and Unisys Mainframe systems preferred.
• Professional certifications relating to Java, COBOL, and IBM mainframes are preferred.
