Job description
We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and reliable Chef/Cook to join our café team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food and beverages, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation, ensuring kitchen cleanliness, and following food safety standards. The Chef/Cook will work closely with the café team to deliver an excellent dining experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook café menu items such as sandwiches, burgers, wraps, pasta, pizzas, salads, snacks, breakfast items, desserts, and other specialty dishes.
• Prepare hot and cold beverages as required, including coffee, tea, shakes, and mocktails (if applicable).
• Ensure all food is prepared according to standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, freshness, and consistency.
• Monitor food preparation times to ensure timely service.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, pantry, cooking equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Monitor inventory of food supplies and communicate replenishment requirements to management.
• Minimize food waste and ensure proper storage of raw materials and prepared items.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
• Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal specials.
• Work collaboratively with service staff to ensure smooth café operations.
• Handle customer requests related to food preparation whenever required.
• Maintain discipline, punctuality, and a positive attitude in the workplace.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by the Café Manager or Owner.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management is preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a café, restaurant, or hotel.
• Experience in preparing continental, fast food, café-style, or multi-cuisine dishes is an advantage.
Required Skills

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Creativity in food presentation and menu development.

Working Hours
• Full-time
• Rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per café operations.
