Chef – Hamilton Boys’ High School Boarding
Job Description
We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join our catering team at Hamilton Boys’ High School, supporting the daily food service for our boarding students.
This is a full-time, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured environment and takes pride in preparing hearty, nutritious meals for young people.
What we offer:
40 hours per week
Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30am – 7:00pm roster
Permanent position on an Education Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals for boarding students
Support the delivery of consistent, nutritious, and appealing food
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety
Assist with menu preparation and meal service
Ensure stock rotation and efficient kitchen systems
Help maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness
Support the Site Manager and step up when required
What you’ll bring
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
A positive attitude with a strong work ethic
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong focus on quality, consistency, and service
Reliability and good time management skills
Experience in high-volume or institutional catering (advantageous)
