Job Description
In this role at Four Points by Sheraton, you'll be at the heart of our kitchen operations, preparing special meals and substitute items with precision. You'll regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures, pull food from freezer storage to thaw properly, and ensure every plate meets our quality standards for portion, arrangement, and garnish. Maintaining food logs, monitoring quality and quantity, and communicating needs during busy periods are key. You'll inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials and keep our Food & Beverage team updated on menu changes and out-of-stock items. Cold food preparation and adherence to recipes and checklists are part of your daily routine.
Beyond cooking, you'll assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members. You'll serve as a role model, following all company safety and security policies, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions. Completing safety training, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, and protecting confidential information are expected. Anticipating and addressing guest service needs, communicating clearly, and building positive working relationships are essential. You'll also support the team in reaching common goals and ensure adherence to quality standards. Physical demands include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
### What We're Looking For
technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred, along with at least three years of related work experience. No supervisory experience is necessary. No specific license or certification is required. We value individuals who are genuine, approachable, and committed to putting guests at ease in a friendly environment.
