Casualty medical officer
Job Description
NC Medical College & Hospital is seeking a dedicated and competent Casualty Medical Officer (CMO) to manage emergency and trauma cases in the casualty department.
The CMO will be responsible for providing immediate medical attention, initial diagnosis, stabilization of patients, and coordination with specialty departments for further care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide immediate medical care to patients arriving at the casualty/emergency department.
Triage and prioritize emergency cases based on severity and urgency.
Stabilize critical patients and initiate emergency interventions as required.
Coordinate with specialty consultants, departments, and support staff for further diagnosis, treatment, or admission.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all patients seen in the casualty.
Supervise nursing and paramedical staff in the emergency department.
Ensure availability and proper use of emergency drugs and equipment.
Provide medico-legal case documentation (MLC) in accordance with government norms.
Assist in smooth running of the casualty/emergency department during the assigned shift.
Qualifications & Requirements:
MBBS degree from a recognized university/institution.
Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI)/State Medical Council.
Experience: 3–8 years in emergency or casualty settings.
BLS (Basic Life Support) / ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.
Strong clinical and decision-making skills.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
