Job Summary The Cashier is responsible for handling customer billing transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves operating billing counters, handling cash and digital payments, maintaining billing accuracy, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience for customers in the hypermarket. Key Responsibilities Operate POS (Point of Sale) billing system efficiently. Scan products and generate customer bills accurately. Handle cash, card, UPI, and other payment methods securely. Ensure proper cash handling and maintain billing accuracy at all times. Verify prices, discounts, promotions, and offers during billing. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the billing counter area. Assist customers with billing-related queries and provide courteous service. Balance cash drawer and submit daily cash reports to the supervisor. Coordinate with supervisors for price corrections, voids, and exchange processes. Follow company policies, billing procedures, and security guidelines. Support store operations during peak hours and promotional events. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing quick and professional checkout service. Required Skills & Competencies Basic knowledge of POS systems and billing operations. Good numerical and cash-handling skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions. Ensure proper merchandising and attractive product display as per company standards. Replenish shelves and maintain product availability at all times. Monitor product expiry dates and remove damaged or expired items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned department. Support promotional activities, offers, and seasonal displays. Assist in stock receiving, counting, and inventory management. Coordinate with supervisors for stock shortages and customer concerns. Achieve department sales targets and improve customer satisfaction. Handle customer complaints politely and escalate when necessary.
