JEI Summer Camps are designed to provide various unique, fun-filled experiences in a safe environment for children ages 4-10. Our summer camp starts with plenty of field trips and exciting activities and aims to share precious memories with all our campers. To ensure our campers have a fun and memorable summer, we are currently recruiting Camp Counsellors for our centers who will engage in fun, educational, interactive indoor and outdoor activities with our campers. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, responsible, creative, caring, physically fit, and authority figure who will build relationships with campers and enhance their experience while taking responsibility for their health and wellbeing.
Job Description:
JEI Camp Counsellors lead and supervise campers in a safe, fun, and educational environment. They will assist our JEI Teachers in organizing and implementing various activities to ensure that all campers are engaged, challenged, and supported.
Camp Counsellor Role and Responsibilities:
Lead and participate in both indoor and outdoor learning activities for participant groups ranging from 25-40 participants.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the participants before, during, and after activities.
Take part in all pre-camp training and post-camp debriefing activities.
Collaborate closely with other Camp Counsellors and JEI Teachers to provide the best experience possible for participants at all times.
Serve as role models to ensure camp participants feel welcomed, confident to engage, and comfortable with their camp environment.
Actively participate and lead, when needed, all indoor and outdoor activities.
Assist educators with formal learning sessions as needed.
Provide constant feedback to JEI Teachers.
Participate in camp clean-up sessions.
Camp Counsellor Qualifications:
Previous work experience in a classroom or camp setting with children is essential.
Excellent communication skills in English to navigate language barriers
Passionate for cooking and physical education activities
Resourceful team player with confidence and discipline to lead and act independently
Organized, detailed oriented, and punctual
First Aid and CPR Courses are a plus!
Hours of Work:
Start date is flexible, but candidates must be available between April to June for training and orientation.
15-20 hours Monday through Friday, July 7 through August 22, 2025
Closed on Statutory Holidays and certain summer weeks
The position may lead to permanent employment to continue working in September 2025.
