Bindery Helper
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Bindery Helper supports the Bindery operators at end of runs to complete jobs.
First shift: 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Essential Functions and responsibilities:
• Print, read, and comprehend work instructions.
• Finish printed pieces by catching finished product; verifying product quality; packaging product inline.
• Maintain production rates.
• Performs hand collating and other manual tasks in Bindery.
• Support Bindery operators to complete jobs
• Maintain, complete, and verify paperwork for each production run documenting: production run counts, inspection frequencies, and responsible parties for producing material.
• Track job costs/production hours as applicable
• Contribute to safety goals by maintaining a clean, clutter-free workplace, report potentially unsafe conditions and ensure that the department meets and exceeds safety requirements.
• Meet productivity and quality standards by completing work in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 2 plus years of experience working in printing, manufacturing, distribution, and/or fulfilment.
• Basic computer skills including email, basic mouse, keyboard and menu navigation.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement.
• Ability to communicate/understand basic written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in printing, manufacturing, distribution and or fulfillment
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
• Frequent standing for prolonged periods of time
• Frequent walking
• Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive work
The national pay range for this role is $14.00 - $18.00 hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
