Banquet Server/General Event Staff (seasonal)
Job Description
We are hiring 10–15 part-time Event Staff at $17.00/hour to support events held in Mac Hall and across campus. Flexible hours. Morning and daytime availability preferred. Shifts also include afternoons, evenings, and nights.
What you’ll do
Set up event rooms with linen, serviceware, décor, tables, staging, pipe and drape, and A/V
Attend pre-event briefings to understand timelines, menus, and special requirements
Deliver food and beverages on schedule under supervisor direction
Maintain clean, safe, and organized event spaces
Reset rooms after events for the next function
Follow Students’ Union and AGLC rules for responsible ******* service
Work closely with supervisors, teammates, Facilities, Security, and clients
You will receive daily direction and work under the supervision of the Manager, Event Supervisors, and Banquet Captain on shift.

Active, physical work (lifting 10–40 lbs regularly, pushing equipment up to 80 lbs)
Busy, fast-paced event environment with noise and tight timelines
High interaction with guests, clients, and campus partners
Shifts scheduled any 5 days out of 7

Experience & education
High school education required
Banquet, catering, serving, meeting, or event experience preferred
University campus experience is an asset

This is an ideal position for a current University of Calgary student, although this isn't a requirement.
