About the Role
We are partnering with an industry-leading organization in Conversational AI that has powered over 500 million devices and processed more than 10 billion AI-driven interactions. As a Backend Engineer (L3), you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance backend services that power mission-critical conversational AI products used by Fortune 500 companies and leading unicorns globally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable, secure backend services for conversational AI products
• Own the complete feature lifecycle from requirements gathering through production deployment and monitoring
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and Client Engineering to deliver enterprise solutions
• Perform code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality and engineering excellence
• Identify and resolve system bottlenecks while driving continuous improvements in performance and reliability
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy
• Implement industry best practices for CI/CD, security, observability, and documentation
• Mentor junior engineers and elevate overall team capabilities
Required Qualifications:
• 7+ years of professional experience building highly scalable backend services in production environments
• Strong expertise in Python with hands-on experience in Django (preferred), Flask, or FastAPI
• Proven experience designing normalized database schemas for large-scale applications
• Deep knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design patterns
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or MQTT) in production environments
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools (Kibana, Grafana)
• Experience with Git version control and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related engineering field
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work independently
