Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) is a movement of women workers in the informal economy, working towards the economic empowerment of these workers. Over 50 years, 2.1 million women in India across 18 states have become members of this decentralized, grassroots movement.
SEWA Cooperative Federation, works to support women’s collective enterprises (WCEs), across sectors, enabling them to become viable, to innovate and to scale. Over 30 years, we have promoted 100+ women’s cooperatives, reaching 300,000 informal women workers, across sectors of work: agriculture and allied activities, handicrafts, services, social security, finance and vending.
SEWA Saamarth is a private limited company, promoted by SEWA Cooperative Federation. The main purpose of SEWA Saamarth is to link informal women workers and their collective enterprises to the online & offline market, build the capacity of enterprise members & the board,conduct action research and support in effective branding & communication design.
• Our guiding principles
SEWA Saamarth offers need based services to support and strengthen informal women worker’s collective enterprises, including SEWA & non-SEWA collective enterprises, women micro entrepreneurs, FPOs & SHGs, both nationally and internationally, with a goal of the enterprises achieving financial viability and self-reliance. This vision is captured in our logo as well, wherein all the women workers are seen as branches from the same tree, branching out to newer heights collectively, whilst staying strong together at the base. • Experience:
- 1 - 2 Years of experience in food industry
• Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Home Science with specialization in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Culinary Arts, Hotel Management or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.

• Responsibilities:
- Food Quality Assurance:
- Standardization of food items.
- Develop and implement food safety and quality control protocols for the organization's food programs.
- Regularly inspect and monitor food products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of incoming food items.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Design and deliver training programs on food safety, handling, and nutrition to staff and beneficiaries.
- Handling the team and supervising canteens.
- Develop training materials, manuals, and guidelines to support the dissemination of best practices.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to food program staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in food quality assurance.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of food quality assessments, audits, and training activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, certifications, and accreditation standards.
- Prepare reports on food quality and safety performance for internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in food production, storage, and distribution.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures to enhance food quality and safety.
