Candidate Profile:
• You will advise clients on complex issues relating to registered investments and their structure, and support a client base of global financial institutions, smaller boutique firms, and start-up organizations.
• Lead the preparation, review and the negotiation of fund documentation, disclosures, and all relevant materials for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and various investment products.
• Provide counsel and advice on regulatory compliance with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
• Stay current with the emerging trends and products in the financial industry to proactively identify and advise clients on opportunities and potential challenges.
• Collaborate with team members leveraging the firm’s resources and industry expertise to deliver premier client service.
Requirements include:
• Juris Doctorate degree from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the State of California.
• 3-6 years of substantial experience with Registered Investment Companies or firms advising Registered Investment Companies
• Familiarity with the Investment Company Act and Investment Act is necessary. Fluency with these is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to and familiarity with exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, investment advisers, business development companies, and commodity transactions in preferred.
• Large law firm, in-house counsel, or regulatory agency experience strongly preferred.
