Job Description
We're Hiring: Assistant Project Producer Learn exhibition-making from the inside.
What About Art is a Mumbai-based arts management agency specialising in exhibition design, production, and installation, alongside art conservation and collection management. We work with leading artists, institutions, and private collectors to deliver exhibitions of the highest standard - from ******** gallery shows to large-scale public art and commercial experiences.

The Role
The Assistant Project Producer will work closely with our Creative Project Producer and Director to support the end-to-end delivery of art exhibitions and projects. This is a hands-on, learning-by-doing role suited to someone with an architectural or interior design background who is curious about the world of exhibition-making and ready to grow their skills in a professional arts context.
You will be involved at every stage - from technical drawings and vendor coordination to on-site installation and client communication - developing a well-rounded understanding of how contemporary art projects are produced from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Exhibition Execution
Support the accurate implementation of exhibition layouts and creative direction during production and installation phases
Prepare and update technical drawings (plans, sections, 3D mockups) in CAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop
Assist with on-site installation, including spatial setups, artwork placements, and technical requirements
Identify and flag on-site issues proactively, with appropriate escalation where needed
Project Coordination
Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and external agencies, maintaining clear communication and follow-up
Track project timelines and task progress on Asana, keeping documentation up to date
Prepare weekly project reports and maintain thorough records of key decisions and processes
Support the preparation of quotations, proposals, and project applications
Client & Team Support
Assist with professional and timely client communication, under the guidance of the Creative Project Producer
Liaise with clients on-site and in meetings, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and addressed
Contribute to content for social media and website updates related to exhibitions
What We Are Looking For
Essential
Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related discipline
1–3 years of professional experience in architecture, interior design, or a related field
Strong technical skills in CAD (2D), SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Canva
High attention to detail and a precise, methodical approach to work
Good organisational and communication skills
Based in Mumbai, with the ability to attend site visits and installations as required
A genuine interest in contemporary art and exhibition-making
Desirable
Experience with or exposure to exhibition design, set design, or cultural project management
Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana
Experience working with clients or external vendors
Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends during installation periods
Desirable
