Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Sohom Express Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Malda. The Assistant Manager oversees day-to-day logistics operations, including managing shipment orders, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of both national and international consignments. This role involves monitoring the use of technology platforms for tracking, reporting, and process optimization, as well as supporting space control and reservations activities. The Assistant Manager handles customer queries and escalations in collaboration with the customer care team, maintains operational records and MIS reports, and helps implement company policies and service standards. The role also includes supervising staff, aligning workflows with business goals, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
• Strong operational management skills, including workflow coordination, team supervision, and shipment handling.
• Proficiency in using logistics-related technology such as track and trace systems, MIS tools, ERP platforms, and reservation or space control software.
• Solid communication and customer service skills, with the ability to manage client queries, resolve issues, and collaborate with customer care teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities for monitoring performance, interpreting data, and implementing process improvements.
• Organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks, handle multiple shipments, and meet service timelines.
• Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management; prior experience in a courier or express service environment is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work on-site
