The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant within the Supply Chain Finance team at HarperCollins, one of the UK’s largest multi-platform publishers. This role presents a unique chance to join a small, professional team where you can develop and enhance your accounting skills.

The Company

HarperCollins boasts over 200 years of publishing excellence, delivering a diverse range of books across multiple genres from some of the world’s most acclaimed authors, including Nobel Prize winners and global bestsellers. Our Glasgow distribution operation dispatches approximately 100 million books globally each year and offers full order-to-cash services for various third-party clients from our state-of-the-art facility in Robroyston.

Main Responsibilities

Prepare and report on designated costs areas for the monthly management accounts.
Client Revenue reporting and analysis as part of the monthly management accounts.
Provide analytical support on costs and variances against targets
Assist in compiling the monthly management information pack for executive review.
Preparation posting of journals to the Ledger system accurately and timely.
Conduct monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for the divisional accruals, prepayments certain creditors.
Involved in preparing and delivering the annual budget and quarterly forecast for designated cost areas and client revenue areas.
Compile the monthly billings for distribution services provided to third party clients.
Support the team with ad-hoc analysis and projects as required
Key attributes

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Part-qualified or pursuing a professional accounting qualification CIMA or ACCA is preferred.
A minimum of 1 -2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
High attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude, essential for working within a small team.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; advanced skills would be advantageous
