Calling on a creative fashion mind with a flare for operations – we have an opportunity for you to escape the corporate grind and join the team at Apparelmark as our “Senior Designer “. If you are inspired by innovation, creativity and challenges that come with building apparel brands this position is ideal for you!
As our Senior Designer you will be given autonomy over a portfolio of clients including handling direct client communication, leading the design vision, and executing the results across our vendors and supply chain. You will also own project status and budget reviews, cross team collaborations and will oversee the deliverables of each project from ideation to creation.
Efficient team management, visionary thinker, pro-active team player, professional communicator, and strong understanding of technical apparel design and development are all essential elements to succeeding in this role.
This is a in house role, full time position located in Vancouver, Canada.
Role Breakdown:
• We are looking for a passionate, resourceful and ambitious Senior Designer looking to work with an experienced team in the field of apparel design & development
• Be placed in a leadership role with the opportunity to structure, lead and collaborate on company wide projects across a multitude of apparel product markets
• Be able to lead the design vision across technical apparel, high performance sports, luxury garments, and ready to wear markets for both ladies and mens.
• Being able to effectively manage and communicate with an established roaster of clients on day to day operations and feedback on the status of their projects
• Being able to deploy past experience in the creative design field to produce and demonstrate high capability in the field of creative direction, design and visual sketching of core elements in the apparel market place
• Have a keen understanding of materials, trims and sourcing processes to access vendors across a variety of textile programs and practices
• Help establish and onboard factory level partnerships to lead sample development, lab dips, sample yardage management and final bulk approvals across designated client projects
• Be prepared to expand your skill set by collaborating with other Apparelmark team members to grow your understanding in the categories of modern design techniques, proprietary material knowledge, technical and spec construction guidelines, vendor partnership management and expanded communication skills in the field of arts and fashion
• Be able to be in office to collaborate with the team regularly

• 8+ years’ apparel industry experience in technical or performance design roles
• Ability and desire to lead a roaster of individual brands

• Advanced knowledge of Illustrator and Adobe programs
• Self-starter attitude with clear appreciation for entrepreneurship
Key Skills
• The ability to set clear objectives and have a clear plan for execution
• Embody a positive and enthusiastic approach towards client facing communication
• Problem solving ability in the field of design aesthetics, technical development and material structure of apparel
