The Role ResponsibilitiesOverall 6 Years of experience in information technology out of which 4 years of experience in data science and machine learning Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sourcesUsing machine learning tools to select features, create and optimize classifiersCarrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured dataEnhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systemsProcessing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysisAnalyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutionsDeveloping prediction systems and machine learning algorithmsPresenting results in a clear mannerPropose solutions and strategies to tackle business challengesCollaborate with Business and IT teamsStrategyTowards delivering and living out our TTO Strategy 25 byEstablish Strong Digital FoundationsAccelerate TransformationDrive Process ExcellenceBusinessContribute to the strategic goals of the organisation through the application of technology. Solve problems through the application of technical knowledge and skill, determining when and how technology can solve business problems. Manage escalations on PEP / Sensitive issues requiring additional assessment and/or controlsGovernanceTake personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of the role. Understand and comply with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, and regulations, including those governing anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions; the Group’s policies and procedures; and the Group Code of Conduct. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters. Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations among employee’s form part of the cultureOur Ideal CandidateEducation Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldOverall 8 Years of experience in information technology out of which 4 years of experience in data science and machine learning TrainingProgramming Skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig is desirable. Familiarity with Scala, Java, or C is an added advantage.Statistics – Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc. Proficiency in statistics is essential for data-driven companies. Machine Learning – good knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbours, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests. Strong Math Skills (Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra) - understanding the fundamentals of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra is important as they form the basis of a lot of predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques. Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of a data scientist job description. Experience with Data Visualization Tools like matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js., Tableau that help to visually encode dataExcellent Communication Skills – it is incredibly important to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience.Strong Software Engineering BackgroundHands-on experience with data science toolsProblem-solving aptitudeAnalytical mind and great business senseDegree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field is preferredProven Experience as Data Analyst or Data ScientistCertifications: 2-3 certification related to Data science and Machine learningLanguages: Experience with Python/R ,GoRole Specific Technical CompetenciesData Science Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence Python/RAbout Standard CharteredWere an international bank, nimble enough to act, big enough for impact.
