About the Role

This is not a traditional PPC Manager role. We're building toward a model where execution, the actual campaign setup, creative generation, reporting, and optimization, is handled substantially through AI systems and workflows rather than manual, hands-on labor. What we need is someone who can direct that AI-driven execution with strong strategic judgment, catch what the AI gets wrong, and continuously push the approach beyond what conventional PPC playbooks or off the shelf AI tools would produce on their own.

To be clear about what we mean by innovation here: we're not looking for someone who simply lets AI run existing campaigns faster. We're looking for someone who uses AI and data science as leverage to test ideas that traditional performance marketing wouldn't get to, new attribution logic, non obvious audience hypotheses, first principles approaches to lead quality, and treats the AI systems as a tool for that thinking, not a replacement for it.

You'll inherit active infrastructure, not a blank slate. This includes live campaigns, defined audience personas, remarketing cohorts already built and running, and an AI driven experimentation program in progress. Your job is to build on that, direct AI systems to execute against it, and improve both the strategy and the workflows over time.

Key Responsibilities
• Strategy and Direction: Own the PPC and performance marketing strategy across Google Ads, Meta, and other platforms, and translate that strategy into AI workflows and prompts rather than manual execution.
• AI Orchestrated Execution: Set up, manage, and continuously refine AI systems and workflows (using tools like Claude, MCPs, and similar) to handle campaign setup, creative generation, audience building, and reporting.
• Quality Control and Judgment: Review AI-generated campaigns, creative, and recommendations critically. Know when to trust the output and when to override it, this is a core skill the role depends on.
• Innovation Beyond the Default: Go beyond what AI tools suggest out of the box. Use data science thinking to identify original hypotheses and approaches that conventional PPC tactics or default AI recommendations would miss.
• Data Science Driven Optimization: Use data analysis (Python, SQL, or similar) to identify patterns in performance and lead quality data that go beyond what AI tools or dashboards surface on their own.
• Experimentation: Design and run structured experiments (audience hypotheses, creative approaches, bidding strategies, attribution models), with AI handling much of the execution and you handling the hypothesis design and evaluation.
• Budget and Lead Quality Ownership: Manage budgets toward ROAS targets, with real attention to lead quality rather than just CPL or CTR.
• Attribution Thinking: Work comfortably with attribution models beyond last click or short window defaults.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with SEO, creative, product, and analytics teams, and clearly explain AI driven decisions and unconventional approaches to stakeholders who may be more used to traditional metrics.

What We're Looking For
• 2 to 5 years of experience in performance marketing, growth, or a closely related analytical field. Open to non traditional paths (consulting, product analytics, startup growth roles) if the analytical rigor and adaptability are strong.
• Degree from a top tier institution (IIT, IIM, ISB, BITS, or equivalent caliber, in India or globally).
• Genuine experience working with AI tools and workflows in a way that changed how you approached a problem, whether in marketing or an adjacent field. A personal project, a workflow you built for a previous role, or a clear example from any domain would be needed.
• Judgment and skepticism. We need someone who trusts AI output enough to rely on it for execution, but is sharp enough to catch it when it's wrong, and curious enough to push past what it suggests by default. This is one of the most important traits for this role.
• Strong communication skills, since you'll need to justify an AI first way of working and unconventional ideas to stakeholders who are used to traditional metrics and manual oversight.
• Comfortable owning this function independently, with AI systems handling execution.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
• Experience with cross channel attribution and reporting platforms such as Windsor.ai or similar
• Prior experience in EdTech, fintech, or another high consideration, trust driven purchase category
• A public portfolio, blog, or GitHub showing independent work building AI or automation systems, in any domain
