The Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) role will provide for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical midwifery education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. Education includes orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing and midwifery staff and casual nurses and midwives as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing and midwifery staff and supporting the clinical placement of midwifery students

The CME will work in collaboration with the Midwifery Unit Manager/Midwifery Manager and wider hospital team to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs relevant to Maternity Services with an ongoing focus on quality and safety

The CME will engage in a community of practice and supervision as well as provide clinical supervision at point of care.
