Position: Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, or a related field.
Experience: 12-15 years
Tools/Software’s: Major APC Platform (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, Pipesim, Flarenet, Rockwell Automation, Yokogawa, Emerson)
Location: Abu Dhabi / India
Industries: Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Chemical Plants
Positions: 5 Nos.
Joining: 4-8 Weeks
Responsibility
The Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of APC applications within our petrochemical plants and refinery operations. This role focuses on enhancing process performance and optimization, improving efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring operational stability and safety through the application of advanced control strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of APC applications.
• Analyse process data to identify opportunities for implementing advanced process control strategies, statistical process control (SPC), and multivariate data analysis.
• Develop and configure APC models, including multivariable predictive control (MPC).
• Integrate APC with DCS (Distributed Control Systems), SCADA, and PLCs (e.g., Siemens Honeywell Experion, Rockwell).
• Implement APC solutions using modern APC platforms (e.g., Aspen DMCplus, Honeywell Profit Controller, Yokogawa Exasmoc, etc.).
• Ensure all APC designs and implementations comply with company safety standards, industry best practices, and relevant regulatory requirement.
• Optimizing PID Control Loops & Process Automation.
• Experience working with industrial data historians (e.g., OSIsoft PI) and data analytics tools for data extraction and analysis.
• Familiarity with major Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, Rockwell).
• Hands-on experience with steady-state and dynamic process simulators (Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS)
• Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), HAZOP, LOPA studies, and other risk assessments.
