Job summary
Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills? Are you a team worker with the ability to use your own initiative? If the answer is yes, then we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated AO Administrative Officer to join our encouraging and welcoming team of dedicated military and civilian healthcare professionals and administrative staff working within The Healthcare Facility, Bulford.

The vacant post is a full-time position working 37 hours per week. Part-time candidates will be considered but due to service delivery requirements it must be on a job share basis as full-time hours need to be covered.

Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. These changes may be minor or could be more substantive and will generate new opportunities. Job description
The post holder will be responsible for providing a high standard of administrative support to the Mental Health Team (MHT). The Administrative Officer (AO) will work to the direction of the Executive Officer (EO) Practice Manager to support the clinical staff based within the Defence of Community Mental Health (DCMH), whilst being responsible for all administrative requirements for both new and current patient caseloads which includes liaison with other Medical Centres and outside agencies. You will also be responsible for managing clinical diaries and clinics, answering telephone queries, booking medical documents in/out, dealing with the post, and sending and receiving faxes/emails and providing cover for the Executive Officer (EO) in their absence.
Person specification
Main details of the role include but are not limited to:

General administrative tasks to include the organisation and despatch of appointments for all clinical staff, photocopying, filing (medical and general), receipt and despatch of faxes and to assist with the receipt, sort and despatch of mail as required.
To ensure all offices have adequate stationery, ordering suitable stock as and when required.
Answering the office and reception phone, dealing with queries within your own area of expertise and taking accurate messages as appropriate for other staff and booking appointments via the Defence Medical Information Capability Program (DMICP).
Organise travel and accommodation for clinical duties for clinical staff when requested.
Contribute to effective liaison with outside agencies i.e., hospitals, other medical facilities/practices and other organisations involved in the provision of medical care.
