Role: Accountant
Location: Highland Park, IL
Salary: Base Salary $60,000 – $70,000 per annul

Must have experience with general ledger, AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
Must be proficient in INCODE and QuickBooks
Familiarity with systems such as RecTrac, ForeUp, and Plan2Play preferred
Job Overview:

The Accountant is responsible for managing accounts receivable and general ledger functions, supporting financial reporting and reconciliations, and assisting the Accounting Manager with various fiscal responsibilities. This is a detailed and hands-on role that requires accuracy, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain INCODE chart of accounts and revenue codes
Manage credit card installment billing, ACH payments, declined transactions, and customer accounts
Utilize registration/payment platforms (RecTrac, ForeUp, Plan2Play) for data interface and error resolution
Prepare and post journal entries; manage interoffice deposits and banking pickups
Reconcile monthly bank and investment accounts with the Accounting Manager
Support Treasurer’s reports and internal financial reports (QuickBooks INCODE)
Assist with external audits, grant reporting, and budget preparation
Manage cash handling training, licensing, armored pickup scheduling, and asset tracking
Liaise with Foundation: oversee deposits, reconciliations, checks, reports, and financial documentation
Conduct internal audits and assist with fee analysis and shred coordination
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience (municipal or non-profit environment a plus)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Detail-oriented with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, INCODE, QuickBooks, and ability to learn new financial systems
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,193.51 - $70,082.51 per year
