What you’ll do:
At Genesis, the properties we manage are more than buildings and land - they're the foundation for the infrastructure and projects that help power New Zealand. As our Property Acquisition Manager, you'll play a key role in managing a diverse property portfolio that supports our generation assets and future energy projects.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of property, asset development and project delivery. Reporting to our National Property Manager, you'll work across property acquisitions and disposals, lease negotiations, business case development, portfolio planning, and project delivery.
Working closely with project teams, business leaders, landowners, consultants, legal advisors, iwi, and other stakeholders, you'll help secure the property rights and relationships needed to bring important energy projects to life. Whether you're securing property rights for a new project, leading complex negotiations, or managing strategically important property initiatives, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on Genesis' long-term success.
Please note that this is fulltime permanent role and can be based in our Auckland (preferred) or Hamilton office.
What you’ll need:
You're an experienced property professional with strong commercial instincts and a talent for building trusted relationships. You enjoy negotiating outcomes, navigating complexity, all while keeping the bigger picture in mind. You're motivated by the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to New Zealand's energy future.
A tertiary qualification in Property, Law, Finance, Management or equivalent experience
Proven experience in property acquisition, property management, property consultancy, or a similar commercial property environment
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels
Experience negotiating property option agreements, fulfilling agreement conditions, managing lease obligations and supporting property acquisitions or disposals
Bonus points if you've worked on property acquisitions or land access arrangements for energy projects.
