The Junior CIS Data Architect role meets the immediate and long-term information needs of Health PEI through the strategic development and maintenance of information infrastructures for the Clinical Information System (CIS). The role supports administrative and patient care activities across the broad spectrum of health care services, supported by the CIS, through the use of new and existing databases, data warehouses and applications. The incumbent will obtain a good working knowledge of the Cerner suite of applications; under supervision, will be responsible for small projects and will work in both an operational and project context with minimal supervision.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Assist with the Development of SQL queries, and information to support decision making and patient care
Under guidance and direction of the Senior Data Architect, assist with the short- and long-term planning of data mining/analysis projects and initiatives to the Clinical Information System / Health PEI for:
Data marts, data warehouses, Report Delivery Methods
Work with senior staff, determine data entry, retrieval, change and delete functions to meet business requirements for project completion.
Investigate Business Intelligence and technology trends to assist management align specialized information initiatives with business needs;
Leadership/Communications/Interpersonal
Participate in Clinical Information System technical group processes related to Business Intelligence, setting and clarifying objectives, encouraging innovation and change, and resolving system conflicts relative to the CIS environment and related technologies.
Development of Policies and Procedures
Assist with the development of policies and procedures as they relate to standardizing data management, adhoc reporting, sharing of information and results, security, communications, change, quality assurance, and risk management.;
Assist with Small/Medium Projects
Work with the Senior Data Architect and the CIS Health Information Specialist in the implementation and use of Business Intelligence (Reporting) methods
Minimum Qualifications:

University Degree in Computer Science OR diploma in Business Information Technology OR Information Management OR Data Analytics with courses in business intelligence and/or data mining/analysis.
Knowledge of developing/working with Structured Query Language (SQL), Oracle Databases, stored procedures and custom functions preferably in a PL/SQL developer environment usually acquired through programs/certifications and/or college/university courses.
Experience working in a team environment.
Knowledge of Data Warehouses and Data Marts, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), Advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) and data mining and analysis tools.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record. The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to beginning employment.
Other Qualifications:

Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL and Crystal reports or other similar report development software would be considered an asset
Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
