Job Summary
Alumanate is hiring a dependable Yard Laborer to help keep our yard, warehouse, and production areas clean, organized, and safe. This is a hands-on, physical position responsible for general cleanup, recycling, operating a baler, and occasionally operating a forklift.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and able to perform physical labor throughout the shift.
Job Duties
Pick up and dispose of general trash throughout the yard and facility.
Remove, stack, and dispose of broken pallets and loose wood.
Sort aluminum, cardboard, plastic, and other recyclable materials into the appropriate recycling areas.
Safely operate a baler for cardboard and approved recyclable materials.
Use shovels, brooms, and other hand tools to clean spilled plastic beads in the yard, warehouse, and production areas.
Occasionally operate a forklift to move trash, pallets, recyclable materials, and cleanup supplies.
Keep dumpsters, recycling areas, Gaylord storage areas, and material storage areas clean, organized, and free of debris.
Prevent loose plastic, trash, and debris from accumulating throughout the property.
Follow all safety procedures, properly use equipment, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other general yard, warehouse, and facility cleanup duties as assigned.
Requirements
Previous forklift operating experience is required.
Must have reliable personal transportation.
Must own and wear steel-toe work boots.
Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled, and be available on the days assigned.
Must be available to work a rotating schedule that includes weekdays and weekends.
Must be able to work outdoors in Houston heat, cold, light rain, and other changing weather conditions.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, shovel, sweep, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to follow instructions and work independently without constant supervision.
Baler experience is preferred; training may be provided.
Schedule
Workdays and days off will rotate based on operational needs.
Weekend availability is required.
Shifts are scheduled for up to 8 hours. Actual hours worked may vary based on operational and cleanup needs.
Scheduled days and hours may change based on business needs.
