Roles and Responsibilities Passionate about making an impact, have a high level of energy, and resilient when met with challenges. In addition, you will possess the below: As a Database Administrator you'll be responsible for configuring, monitoring and improving PostgreSQL databases; write queries, query analysis to understand how teams are using the data; allocation of system storage and planning storage requirements; planning backup and recovery of database information and managing data replication. Provide day-to-day support of PostgreSQL databases including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning and optimization, database security, backup and recovery . Expert knowledge & experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL Expert knowledge of principles of database replication, scalability, and high availability Must have strong experience on Database/PostgreSQL tuning, performance optimization and data realignments Experience with PostgreSQL cloning, backup, restore and recovery, logical backups and capacity planning Ability to identify database performance issues and proactively intervene to reduce downtime. Implement and maintain PostgreSQL database hardening, security standards and controls Conduct root cause analysis & implement pro-active measures. Monitor effectiveness of implemented measures Good communication skills with positive attitude, problem solving skills, multi-tasking and self- initiative qualities Experience with at least one major public cloud implementation (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus Experience with automating routine administrative tasks is desired Prior knowledge and experience on other database platforms is a plus (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) Education and experience • Bachelor or Masters in electronics, computer, software engineering or other relevant discipline.
